Dr. Welch graduated from Colgate University with a B.S. in Biology with honors in Microbiology and received a M.S. in Microbiology from Rensselear Polytechnic Institute. He received his M.D. degree from Albany Medical College with honors and was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. Dr. Welch served as an internal medicine resident at Albany Medical Center Hospital and completed his dermatology residency at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC.

Dr. Welch has been in practice in Providence for 20 years. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology at Brown University. Dr. Welch is also a member of the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery. “ In 2007, Dr Welch was elected to the prestigious Noah Worcester Dermatological Society

Dr. Welch primarily sees patients with skin cancer in his general dermatology practice. He also sees both new and established patients for cosmetic treatments with Laser, Photodynamic Therapy, Botox®, and Juvaderm fillers.
